The Craftsman
Bespoke Joinery for Alpine homes.
The Rustic Chalet coordinates bespoke joinery through trusted, self-employed specialist joiners who understand mountain homes, tight spaces, natural materials and the practical demands of alpine living.
Dean oversees the work as maître d’œuvre, shaping the brief, planning the details and keeping the different trades moving together. The aim is simple: considered joinery, carefully fitted, with every piece serving the space properly.
From the first measurements to the final finish, the focus stays on proportion, durability and a result that feels settled, practical and quietly beautiful.

Built-in furniture
Wardrobes, headboards, window seats, and shelving designed around the exact proportions of the room. Each piece integrates into the chalet’s architecture rather than sitting in front of it.

Bespoke Joinery
Staircases & balustrades
Timber staircases built to complement the chalet’s character — from simple mountain-clean lines to more elaborate balustrade details. Designed to last and made to be touched every day.
Bespoke Joinery
Doors, frames & cabinetry
Internal doors, architraves, kitchen cabinetry, and fitted storage — the details that give a renovation its coherence. Consistent across the whole chalet or tailored room by room.

Materials
The wood has a story to tell.
01
Raw & natural timber
We source solid timber with attention to species, grain, and provenance. Larch, oak, and spruce are selected for longevity and allowed to move naturally — no veneers, no shortcuts.
02
Salvaged & reclaimed
Old barn wood, reclaimed Alpine timber, and materials pulled from earlier renovations. Each piece carries its history into the new space — character that cannot be manufactured.
